Microsoft Office Word Tips and Tricks - Insert Tab - Tables | Microsoft word tips and tricks 2022

This post is the second part to the Microsoft Word Tips and Tricks - Insert Tab. This is on the Tables present in the Insert Tab of the Microsoft Word. Lets begin with the Tables section of Word!

What is the Tables section? It is the section which allows us add tables to organise the content in a word document. The following features provided by this section are:

1. Insert Table
2. Draw Table
3. Convert text to Table
4. Excel Spreadsheet
5. Quick Tables

Now, lets deal with each feature one by one:

1. Insert Table: This feature allows us to do two things:
a. First, it has a pre-defined table layout which allows us to select the needed dimensions of the table. It can be used to add maximum up to 8 rows and 10 columns.

b. Second, it has a button and when clicked, it opens a dialog box which allows us to add the specific dimensions of the table. It also allows us autofit the table into the word document page. You can also make it remember the specific dimensions if you want.

2. Draw Tables: This feature is used to draw tables into the word document. I personally do not recommend this because insert tables feature works well without any hindrance and drawing each column and row is a tedious job.

3. Convert text to Table: The feature is very interesting because this allows to convert any text into a table in seconds. It is also very easy to use it. For example, we want to separate out the first and the last names, so select the text. Go to insert tab, Tables and click on Convert text to table. A dialog box will open. then in separate text at, select others and just leave a space in it. Now change the dimensions as per your choice and its done.

4. Excel Spreadsheet: This feature allows to add a Excel Spreadsheet to your word document.

5. Quick Tables: This feature provides us with predefined templates of tables which are pretty impressive. Some examples are: Calendar and Tabular Table.
