Microsoft Office Word Tips and Tricks - Home Tab - Clipboard | Microsoft word tips and tricks 2022

This post is the first part to the Microsoft Word Tips and Tricks - Home Tab. This is on the Clipboard present in the Home Tab of the Microsoft Word. Lets begin with the Clipboard section of Word!

What is Clipboard ? Clipboard is the section present in the home tab that allows us to:

1. Copy
2. Cut
3. Paste
4. Use Format Painter
Now, lets deal with each feature one by one:

1. COPY
Copy is the feature that allows to copy any word acceptable object like text, image and so on. This feature is present as a button in the Clipboard. To use it we just need to select any object present in the word document and Press on the Copy button. This will save it in the clipboard of the device. This feature does not delete or remove the original object, instead it just makes a duplicate of it when we paste it. Shortcut key: Ctrl + C

2. CUT
Cut is the feature that allows to cut any word acceptable object like the COPY feature. This Feature is present above the COPY button as a separate button in the Clipboard. To use it we just need to select it just like we do while using COPY. This will also save in the clipboard of the device. The only difference between COPY and CUT is that CUT deletes or removes the Original object while COPY does not do so. CUT just displaces an object from one place to another. Shortcut key: Ctrl + X

3. PASTE
Paste is the feature that allows to Input any word acceptable object which has either been copied or cut. This feature is present beside COPY and CUT in the Clipboard. It allows use to paste Objects in four major types- a. Keep Source Formatting
This keeps it to the same formatting as the source from which it is copied.
                     b. Merge Formatting
This changes the formatting of the object to same as the document.
                     c. Picture
This Pastes Images and can also paste text as images which is great!
                     d. Keep Text Only
This Only Pastes text and skips everything else.
Shortcut Key: Ctrl + V

4. Format Painter
Format Painter is a feature that allows to copy the format of any object of the word document and apply the same format to another object. For example, you have applied a border to an image and want to apply the same border to some other image, then it can be applied directly from home tab by using Format Painter. It is present below the COPY button. Shortcut key: Ctrl + Shift + C (To Copy) and Ctrl + Shift + V (To apply)
