One day, I was just exploring the Windows 10 UI and got to know a shortcut key combination that we help us to duplicate files and folders using keyboard and mouse. So, lets begin the answer to the question: "How to outsmart your peers on shortcut to duplicate a file?"
So, when I was exploring and experimenting on Windows Explorer, I by mistake clicked on the control key while dragging a file / folder. Then a small dialogue box appeared and commented : "+ Copy to the Local Disk D" . I was amazed after seeing this. When I let go of the left mouse button, the file / folder got copied. I was still curious that does it work in document files ? So, I opened a word file, added an image to it and then pressed Ctrl Key and then dragged it with the mouse. The image got copied.
